I think the blank and abstract approach to the production of Trifles could be done, though it would be somewhat difficult. There are many props necessary in acting out this play that would have o be sacrificed in order to keep the details minute. For instance, the quilt is a big prop that would have to be used to tell the story in the play. I think a production like this would gain unique input from the audience, as they would have to use their imaginations to envision the scene through their own eyes. However i think it would lose key items that would make the play more understandable to the audience. However the details are not necessarily needed if the script does its job of explaining the situation in the story as well as bringing a sense of familiarity to the audience.
